The organization is dedicated to improving reproductive health outcomes for marginalized communities, with a focus on community research, advocacy, and education. They prioritize reproductive justice and aim to bridge the gap in healthcare access and education for communities that have been historically underserved. 

The goal of this project was to design and develop a digital presence that reflects the organization’s core mission, provides a platform for essential educational resources, and empowers communities in the context of reproductive health. 

Our approach was to create a user-friendly, community-focused website that engages visitors with valuable resources, supports advocacy efforts, and is easily navigable by a broad range of users. The design reflects the seriousness and empowerment central to their mission, while the layout emphasizes clarity, education, and active participation. 

While they had a strong offline presence and a committed community, their previous website fell short in effectively communicating their mission online. The challenges included: 

• Lack of clear, accessible messaging about reproductive justice and their initiatives. 

• Limited engagement from users, as the design wasn’t inviting or easy to navigate. 

• Difficult-to-update content that hindered the nonprofit from showcasing the latest resources, advocacy efforts, and community events. 

• Aesthetic mismatch between the organization’s identity and the digital experience, making it difficult to convey the serious yet empowering nature of their work. 

• Unclear calls to action around how visitors could engage with the cause  

• We designed and developed the website using Wix, a flexible platform that allowed the nonprofit’s team to easily manage and update content. Key elements of the solution included: 

• Community-Centric UI/UX Design: The website features clean, intuitive design elements focused on clear messaging with prominent calls to action like “Get Involved,” “Learn More,”  making it easy for users to engage with the cause. 

• Streamlined Navigation: We ensured visitors could easily find relevant information, whether they were seeking support, learning about reproductive justice, or engaging with the nonprofit’s initiatives. 

• Responsive and Accessible Design: The site was optimized for all screen sizes and designed with accessibility in mind, making it easy for everyone to access important resources. The color schemes and fonts were selected to enhance readability, even for users with visual impairments. 

• Optimized Load Time: The website is fast-loading, improving the user experience and ensuring that visitors stay engaged.
